TOP 5 WEDNESDAY | CURRENT FAVOURITES THAT AREN'T BOOKS

First of all I want to apologise, again, for the lack of blogging. I have been so extremely busy; school, internship and work really got the best of me. But now I am finally in my last week of internship and although I'm sad to leave, I am glad that I will have some time for my own now. Internship just really took a whole lot of my time. Without any further do, today I decided to do a Top 5 Wednesday since my latest posts all have been reviews. These weeks T5W is: current favourites that aren't books.

Hannibal

First of all, I am absolutely loving the show Hannibal which I'm watching with my boyfriend. It is absolutely creepy and totally disturbing but I really enjoy watching it. It also makes me very curious about the books!

Fernandes Cherry Bouquet

My favourite drink at the moment is definitely 'Fernandes Cherry Bouquet'. I think it's a drink that is only available in the Netherlands and Suriname though...

On My Way by Phil Collins

'On My Way' from the movie Brother Bear was always one of my favourite songs but one I totally forgot about. Recently I rediscovered it and once again I'm absolutely in love with this song!

Disposable Camera

Maybe the most random one; but I love disposable camera's. I really like to take pictures with these because I am for sure that I will look at the pictures a lot more than when they are on the computer.

Mamma Mia

Mamma Mia is one of my favourite films ever and recently I have watched it a couple of times again. Still loving it to bits!

TOP 5: BOOKS I WANT TO RE-READ

This year I set as one of my reading goals to re-read at least 5 books. Here are the books I am planning to re-read this year.

The Watcher in the Shadows by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

I really can't even remember what this book is about, but when I read it I gave it four out of five stars. I'm really curious to discover again why I did so.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

To be honest, when I first read this book I didn't quite like it but back then I wasn't strong enough on my opinion to give it the rating that back then I would have wanted to give it. I would like to re-read this book and give it my full and honest opinion.

Counting by 7's by Holly Goldberg Sloan

I really loved this book when I first read it, but now cant' remember much of the details of what this was about. I can't wait to re-read it this year!

The Rabbit Back Literature Society by Pasi Ilmari Jääskeläinen

To be honest, when I first read this I didn't have a clue what was going on in this book. It was so hard for me to understand and although I finished it, I didn't understand anything of this book. Time to give this another chance!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

I read the first 5 Harry Potter books almost a dozen of times. But I can only remember reading the last two books just one time. I can't wait to re-read the whole serie and especially the last two!

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY | FAVOURITE FIRST SENTENCES

In this Top 5 Wednesday we discuss our favourite first sentences in a book. Now there were only two first sentences which I immediately knew I was going to mention. For the other three I had to open almost every book and read the first sentence of and be the judge. Here are my 5 favourite first sentences.

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY | AUTHORS YOU ARE WAITING ON ANOTHER BOOK FROM

I had to think about this topic quite long. There were two authors that popped in my head straightaway when I saw this topic but for the other three I had to think a little bit longer. I feel like most authors that I like have just announced a new book, or are writing a series so I can't mention those. Other authors on my shelf I am just not waiting for a new book on that much. Eventually, here I have my top 5 'authors I am waiting on another book from'.

Patrick Ness
Definitely the one that first popped in to my head was Patrick Ness. I have read only two books by him so far, but absolutely fell in love with his writing style. All his other books are definitely on my wishlist and when he'll announce a new one, it will be automatically added to my list.

Celeste Ng
I read 'Everything I Never Told You' last month and it was absolutely amazing. I loved it so, so much and I can't wait for Celeste to publish a new book. I read somewhere that it took Celeste six years to write 'Everything I Never Told You' so I hope I don't have to wait another six years for a new book of hers.

Stephen Chbosky
Stephen Chbosky is the writer of 'The Perks of Being A Wallflower' a book I adored. Since then he only edited another book which I'm not really interested in reading. I really hope he will announce a new book one day!

David Nicholls
I really like David Nicholls his books. In my opinion his books are the perfect getaway from serious books or crazy fantasies. They are cute and light-hearded and can make me laugh out loud. I hope he will write a new story soon!

Rainbow Rowell
Rainbow Rowell of course couldn't miss in my list. I love Rainbow Rowell her books. They are so cute and fluffy and like David Nicholls his books, very easy to read in between fantasies or series!

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY | MOST RECENT ADDITIONS TO YOUR WISHLIST

Hi everybody!

This weeks Top 5 Wednesday I'll discuss the most recent additions to my wishlist. Click here for my entire wishlist.

I discovered this book through YouTube and thought the synopsis sounded really interesting.

"Kyle Henry has a new name, a new school, and a new life--one without the shadow of the Bonebreaker hanging over him. It's been a year since his serial killer father's execution, and it finally looks like things are turning around for Kyle. Until he recognizes the girl sitting in the back row in homeroom. Naomi Steadman is immediately intrigued by Killdeer Academy's newcomer. She does not know he is the son of the man who murdered her mother. What she does know is she and Kyle have a connection with each other--and a spark that Kyle continues to back away from. Soon after Kyle's arrival, the death count on campus starts to rise. Someone is set on finishing what the Bonebreaker started, and murdering ghosts from the past may be the only thing that can stop the spree."

Next on my wishlist are the Everyman's: pocket poems. I love poetry and I really want to read more poetry and I recently discovered these editions and basically added all that I could find to my wishlist.

Including: Poems of the Sea, Marriage Poems, Indian Love Poems, Irish Poems, Garden Poems, The Great Cat: Poems About Cats, Friendship Poems, Dog Poems, Three Hundred Tang Poems, Poems of the Dead and Undead, War Poems, Scottish Poems, Zen Poems, Arabic Poems, Jazz Poems, Love Poems, Chinese Erotic Poems, Leonard Cohen: Poems and Songs and Poems of Mourning.

Next is another book 'series' that I want to collect. The Penguin: Great Food books.

My wishlist includes: The Chef at War, Love in a Dish and Other Pieces, Recipes and Lessons From a Delicious Cooking Revolution, The Well-Kept Kitchen, The Pleasures of The Table, A Little Dinner Before The Play and A Dissertation Upon Roast Pig & Other Essays.

More to be added.

Next we have: The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I have seen this book going around for a while now but I never really read what it was about. Now I finally know, and I really want to read it!

"Under the influence of their charismatic classics professor, a group of clever, eccentric misfits at an élite New England college discover a way of thinking and living that is a world away from the humdrum existence of their contemporaries. But when they go beyond the boundaries of normal morality their lives are changed profoundly and for ever, and they discover how hard it can be to truly live and how easy it is to kill.."

And last but certainly not least 'The Leaving' by Tara Altebrando. I'm really, really curious about this one because the synopsis sounds so freaking cool!

"Eleven years ago, six five-year-olds went missing without a trace. After all this time, the people left behind have moved on, or tried to. Until today. Now five of those kids are back. They're sixteen, and they are ...fine. Scarlett comes home and finds a mother she barely recognises, and doesn't really know who she's supposed to be, either. But she remembers Lucas. Lucas remembers Scarlett, too, but they can't recall where they've been or what happened to them. Neither of them remember the sixth victim, Max. He doesn't come back and everyone wants answers. Addictive and unforgettable, The Leaving seethes with rich characters, tense storytelling and high stakes."

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: FAVOURITE CHARACTER NAMES

Hello!

Today is Wednesday which means it is time for another Top 5 Wednesday. This week we are discussing our favourite character names which I find really exciting! Once again these are not in a particular order, because I simply can't decide which I prefer the most.

Jupiter - Orbiting jupiter
My first pick is Jupiter from the book 'Orbiting Jupiter'. I'm not gonna mention anything about the character because it will spoil like everything of the book. But I chose this because I think it is such an interesting name, -and thing, to name your child after a planet.

Lola - lola and the boy next door
Lola is a name I loved after the first time I heard it, which I think was in the movie LOL where Miley Cyrus played Lola. I just think it is a fun and quick name!

auggie - wonder
Auggie, short for August is a character from 'Wonder', one of my all-time favourite books. Auggie is such a cute character and, August is my birth month and I think that is why I feel a special connection between me and this name.

Sophie may - billy & me
This name I picked more because of the last name, than the first name. Again, a month, but what can I say. I guess I just really like months as a name. Beside that, Sophie is always a nice name!

Luna Lovegood - harry potter
Luna! I love that name, I think it is one of the cutest names I have heard in my life so far. It also reminds me of the stars and galaxy which is another reason why I really love this name.

What are your favourite character names?

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: BOOK THEME SONGS

Hiiya everyone!

Today is Wednesday, which means T5W. I got really enthousiast reading this months topic, and I especially love this one. I have a love for music, so when books and music are combined in any shape of form I'm on top of it.

So the first song I pick is a Dutch song called 'Omarm' by Bløf. This is a beautiful, emotional song that I can always listen to while reading. But of course, this song is especially great while reading a very emotional book (or part of a book).

The second song I love listening to while reading is 'Left Outside Alone' by Anastacia. I love to listen to this song when there is a strong female character in the book. This song just makes me feel like a powerful woman, singing a long every single word of it.

Another Dutch song, 'Gekke Boys' by De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. The lyrics probably sounds really, really weird to non-Dutch listeners but I love it. The beat is super catchy, and the lyrics is absolutely hilarious. I just bounce around in my chair while listening to this song.

'Latch' by Disclosure is a song I really love to listen to while reading really love-dovey, chicklit books. For example I listened a lot to this, when reading 'Anna and the French Kiss'. And since I now finally have 'Lola and the Boy Next Door' and 'Isla and the Happily Ever After' I will probably listen to this a lot again when I will read those!

'Boss Mode' by Knife Party is a song I love listen to while reading a really adventurous, or dark, or action-packed book. For example I read this while reading the 'Grisha' trilogy. Although that isn't really dark, or action-packed or adventurous now I think about it.. But I loved listening to this while reading 'The Grisha' trilogy.

Thanks for reading! What songs do you recommend for me to listen to while reading :)
