"Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion... she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit – the more sparkly, more wild – the better. And life is pretty close to perfect for Lola, especially with her hot rocker boyfriend. That is, until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket return to the neighbourhood and unearth a past of hurt that Lola thought was long buried. So when talented inventor Cricket steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally face up to a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door. Could the boy from Lola's past be the love of her future?"
I read 'Anna and the French Kiss' two years ago and ever since I have been wanting to pick up the other two companion novels but I never did. A couple of months ago I finally bought them and because I knew I was going to go to Crete, I decided to save them for my holiday. I find these books the perfect summer read.
I really liked our main character Lola, she was different and unique and you really get to see this. I also completely fell for Cricket, Lola's neighbour, I thought he was an absolute sweetheart. I was not to keen on Max, Lola's boyfriend. He was annoying, needy and way too jealous.
I really liked the storyline, it was quite simple, but the things that happen along it's way are great. What I really liked as well is that family bonding also emerges. It was a very important aspect in this book, and is something I always really enjoy reading about.
This book was a lovely read, and I can't wait to complete the companion trilogy by reading 'Isla and the Happily Ever After' soon.

TRAVEL | BOOKS I'M BRINGING TO CRETE
In a couple of days I'm flying to Crete with my boyfriend. We are staying in Koutouloufari for eight days and of course next to sunbathing, swimming, eating+drinking and partying, I will also be reading! I am bringing the next three books with me to Crete!
I decided to bring 'Lola and the Boy Next Door' and 'Isla and the Happily Ever After' to finally finish this companion trilogy. I read 'Anna and the French Kiss' two years ago and ever since been wanting to read the other two novels. Since I bought them in May I've been saving them to read them on holiday. I think they are the perfect summer reads!
I wasn't sure if two books were enough so I decided to add a third novel, a classic. Since watching 'Orphan Black' I've been excited to read 'The Island of Dr Moreau' so I'm bringing this with me as well. It is less than hundred pages, but since I need more time to read classics I thought this was great to bring with me as well.
What are you bringing on holiday?

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: FAVOURITE CHARACTER NAMES
Hello!
Today is Wednesday which means it is time for another Top 5 Wednesday. This week we are discussing our favourite character names which I find really exciting! Once again these are not in a particular order, because I simply can't decide which I prefer the most.
Jupiter - Orbiting jupiter
My first pick is Jupiter from the book 'Orbiting Jupiter'. I'm not gonna mention anything about the character because it will spoil like everything of the book. But I chose this because I think it is such an interesting name, -and thing, to name your child after a planet.
Lola - lola and the boy next door
Lola is a name I loved after the first time I heard it, which I think was in the movie LOL where Miley Cyrus played Lola. I just think it is a fun and quick name!
auggie - wonder
Auggie, short for August is a character from 'Wonder', one of my all-time favourite books. Auggie is such a cute character and, August is my birth month and I think that is why I feel a special connection between me and this name.
Sophie may - billy & me
This name I picked more because of the last name, than the first name. Again, a month, but what can I say. I guess I just really like months as a name. Beside that, Sophie is always a nice name!
Luna Lovegood - harry potter
Luna! I love that name, I think it is one of the cutest names I have heard in my life so far. It also reminds me of the stars and galaxy which is another reason why I really love this name.
